Rules: Play all members equally, rotating every 90 seconds. Attempt to keep numbers matched on the floor (ie: # 2-5 against #2-5). A player lining up as a forward in the first period will line up as a defenseman in period 2. Secondly, a defenseman in period 1 will become a forward in period 2. If you have a line of only 3 players, rotate each player from a full line of 4 (equally) into the line of 3. This is not about winning but about having fun, making new friends, picking up good habits, and creating positive memories. Compliment all players for their effort. Celebrate an unselfish player. Be polite and courteous to officials. Volunteer around the rink when you are not involved in the game. Call the players by their names (listed on the roster). 2–15 minute running periods. USA Hockey rules. Tie will be broken with 3 player shootout or until one team wins the shootout. Important note: If a shootout is necessary, the choice is that the #9's shoot first for each team, then the #8's and then the #7's. If the tie hasn't been broken by then, progress up the numbers #6's, #5's, #4's, etc. until a winner is decided. This way the choice is automatic and out of the hands of the coaches and fixed by the jersey # worn. There are no # changes allowed (even if a kid has a favorite). We used ratings and our best judgment to match on-floor talents and these numbers have been assigned for a reason. Please follow these rules. |
