April 5, 2006 — CCHL Players Play Pond Hockey In North Bay.  CCHL skaters Dakota Beaulieu and Brennan O'Connor traveled with a team of Louisiana and Mississippi ice hockey players to North Bay, Ontario, for the inaugural Canadian Pond Hockey Faceoff.  They got a lot of press!  See the Times-Picayune article, the North Bay Mayor's Office press release, and the article in the weekly magazine The Hockey News.

November 9, 2005 — Sister Club Shines at State Tourney.  The CCHL has Australian friends in a sister hockey league, The Pines River In-Line Hockey Club, who just paid us a visit this summer.  They sent us news of great results in this year's state titles:  First overall for the 10u and 14u divisions, second overall for 12u, and third for 16u.  They sent pictures, too!

November 8, 2005 — AAU Results Update.  CCHL seniors Robbie Steiner, Clark Alsfeld, and Cory Rougelot show off their latest fashion wearing Gold earned by playing on the National Championship Team Mission Detroit Bulldogs in the 20u Junior Olympic division.

October 28, 2005 — CCHL Alumnus Scores for Ice Dogs.  University of Georgia forward and CCHL alumnus Robbie Steiner scored two goals and nearly had a rare single-shift hat trick last week against Florida State.  In the third period of the October 22nd game, Steiner scored at 14:34, 14:54, and just missed at 15:04.  Read more in the full University of Georgia write-up "Ice Dogs Chop Seminoles In 15-0 Blowout."

August 17, 2005 — CCHL Celebrates Steamy South Victories.  CCHL teams skated hard and brought home the goods from Steamy South!  Congratulations to all our players.

August 11, 2005 — AAU Junior Olympic Games Results.  The list of all final scores and awards is available at the AAU hockey web site.  We also have a list of the scores of just the CCHL games.

• The CCHL 8U team took the 8U competitive division silver.
• The CCHL 10U team took the 10U recreational division silver.
• The CCHL 12U team took the 12U competitive division bronze.
• The CCHL fielded two 16U teams.  They took the 16U recreational division gold and the 16U competitive division silver.
• The CCHL 18U team took the 18U competitive division silver.
• The CCHL Men's Silver division team took the bronze medal.
• In the 18U International division, Team Major with CCHL skaters Clark Alsfeld and Corey Rougelot took the division gold.
• In the 10U Skills Contest, CCHL goalkeeper Andrew Parmet won the Top Goalie award, and CCHL skater John Schroeder won the Hardest Shot award with a 50 mph slap shot.  CCHL skater Devin Morrill took second in the Breakaway Contest.
• Congratulations to our 6U All-American Players, Marc Alvendia and Maddie Leger, and to all the CCHL All-Tournament Players:

August 10, 2005 — Tournament Games Complete.  Many thanks to all who participated and made the the AAU Junior Olympic Games a success:  The players, coaches, parents, and particularly the volunteers, many of whom made suite 212 at the Morial Convention Center their second home.  Volunteers who went beyond the call include Lorelei and Kenneth Schaefer, Elizabeth LeGros, Stacey Beaulieu, Liz and D.J. Hackett, Steve and Paula McCreary, Mary Ellen Leger, Ann Perkins, Mary Hicks, Connie Brown, Joni Savoye, and Laurie Joachim.  We apologize in advance to those we left off this list.  It was a lot of time, work, and lost sleep, but the CCHL has never looked better.

August 1, 2005 — CCHL Players in the News.  18U players Clark Alsfeld and Corey Rougelot appear on the cover of the summer issue of USARS Magazine with the gold medal 2005 Pan American Championship Team.

July 18, 2005 — CCHL Travel Teams Place at 2Hot4Ice.  Congratulations to the CCHL 8U Travel Team for winning gold in the 2Hot4Ice Classic July 17th in Gulfport!  8U players Jeremy Brown won the Points Leader, Will Allen the Top Goalie, and Nathan Teed the Deebs Young Award.  Congratulations also to the 10U and 16U Travel Teams for winning silver.  10U goalkeeper Cole Tarzetti won the Deebs Young Award for her division.  See all the results on the 2Hot4Ice web site.

July 2, 2005 — Steamy South Independence Day Classic.  The roster and schedule are available.  The cookout will be at the Harrison County Skate Park Saturday, July 2, from 5:00-7:30 p.m.  The bonfire will be Saturday across from Edgewater Mall at 8:00 p.m.  The menu includes Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Hot Dogs with sides of beans and cole slaw.  The tournament has been compacted into one day to accommodate family time on Sunday and the Fourth.

June 26, 2005 — Travel 8U, 16U Take Silver at AAU Regional.  The 8U and 16U travel teams won silver at the June 24-26 AAU Regional Tournament in Lafayette.  Congratulations!

June 13, 2005 — CCHL Skater to Represent U.S. at World Championships.  Clark Alsfeld has been selected by USA Roller Sports to play with Team USA 18U Major, one of the two 18U teams that are part of the 2005 Team USA Junior Prospects.  This team will represent the U.S. at the USARS World Championships in Detroit July 18-24 and will complete in the AAU Junior Olympic Games International Division July 27-30 here in New Orleans.  We have a link to the team roster and a USA Roller Sports press release announcing the team.

June 6, 2005 — What a Weekend!  The CCHL 10U, 12U, and 14U Travel Teams all took the gold medal at the USA Hockey InLine Regional Championships in Lafayette!  The 17U A team and the 8U team took silver!  Congratulations to all our players!  USA Hockey InLine has posted all the game scores. May 23, 2005 — Who Says Girls Can't Play Hockey?  See Lauren Ziegler and Cole Tarzetti win the 10U Best Defenseman and Best Goalkeeper awards, along with pictures of the departing seniors and everyone else at the 2005 Awards Banquet.

April 25, 2005 — Two CCHL Players Bring Home Pan American Gold.  Corey Rougelot and Clark Alsfeld brought home the gold with the men's inline hockey team at the Pan American Championships in Argentina!  Read more about it.
