Welcome!
Welcome to the web site of the Inline Hockey tournament of the 2005 AAU Junior Olympic Games!

This year the Junior Olympic Games will be hosted in New Orleans, Louisiana.  We expect over 3,500 players from 340 teams, plus the junior world championships with international teams from four continents!

The Crescent City Hockey League in New Orleans and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation are proud to host this event and have worked to prepare the rinks, reserve hotel rooms, and develop this web site to make participation in this tournament easy and fun.

Take a look at our welcome letter from the Crescent City Hockey League!

Check our Divisions & Awards page for age and competitive divisions, and the Block Schedule page for a schedule.

Check our Locations & Hotels page for details on game location, maps, and New Orleans hotel information.

Tournament Games Underway

The international games have begun!  Wednesday evening we saw the first games of the AAU International and Junior World Cup competitions.  All tournaments games are in Hall A of the Morial Convention Center.  There is no admission charged to spectators of inline hockey.

One Venue – Three Tournaments

From July 27 to August 7, the same venue in New Orleans will host three different but coordinated inline hockey tournaments:

The 2005 AAU Junior Olympic Games, with divisions for boys and girls from 6u to 20u and high school.  This tournament is the primary focus of this web site.

The 2005 Men's and Women's USARS USA Championships, with divisions for adult men and women.  This web site also provides information and the entry packet for this tournament.

The 2005 FIRS Junior World Championships, an international tournament.  The information and entry packet for this tournament are available at the USA Roller Sports web site.

Wear Your Pin!

Updated June 17.  Hotel Occupancy Rates Very High.  The New Orleans Tourism and Convention Bureau released its July-August summer hotel activity. "This summer's rental activity is the strongest since the September 11, 2001 attack and it will result in hotel bookings in the 85-90% occupancy level."  To anyone planning on attending the AAU tournaments, this occupancy level is similar to what we experience with a Super Bowl, and more than we experience with the annual Mardi Gras!  While there are still hotels available with rates that are discounted way below a standard rate, you had better reserve NOW or you will be shut out...or pay much more!

Please review the Locations & Hotels page for hotels that are participating in the AAU rental program.  Hotel rooms blocks were released on July 1.  Event rates may no longer be available at certain hotels.  The 11,715 rooms set aside for the Junior Olympic Games are quickly being booked.  We have a special list of hotels within easy walking distance from the rinks on our Locations & Hotels page.

To be sure you get the best discount, we strongly recommend you call the hotel's local number and explicitly ask for the AAU Inline Hockey Championship rate.
